Richtext not transparent on Printers in 10.04

edited January 2007 in End User
Hello,

i am using version 10.04 with delphi 2006.
In the enduseresigner i am using Richtext with property "transparent". But
on a minolta and on an HP laser the printout overprints a rectangle (shape)
with a white underground,
any idea?

    Hi Chris,

Was this behavior different for earlier versions of ReportBuilder? Does
this occur on every printer you print to? I believe some printers have
problems with transparency. As a test, try printing to a different printer
    and see if that helps.

    Hi Nico,

yes it was also in 7.04. I tried it with the filled shape as a circle. Over
this i placed a richtext object with some lines of text.
On the place where letters are, it is printed on a white background.
It happend with all printers we have. But only on the screen preview and on
    the editor it is ok.

I had also an old version of our application and tried it with a delphi7
    compiled executable. The same result.
Seems that this happend for a long time.

    A customer has found this...

    Best regards

For most printer drivers, transparent RichText does not work in our testing.
RB relies upon the windows RichEd.dll to render the rich text. The
RichEd.dll communicates with the printer driver. I think long ago, we tried
to remove the TppRichText.Transparent property, but some customers said that
it worked for the printers they were using.
