Lining up vertical lines

Is there an easier way to line up vertical lines with column headers? right now I have to use trial and error as things look good in preview but don't line up in PDF or vice versa.

  • Hi Eric,

The issue is a long standing one that is difficult to "fix" due to backward compatibility requirements and mathematical limitations. The issue occurs when attempting to line up lines and shapes. Lines and shapes are drawn differently in PDF which makes them difficult to line up. The workaround is to use only lines or shapes when you need perfect alignment.

It is on our todo list to possibly add a property that will allow drawing shapes as lines for this purpose.

  • Ok, that makes sense.. is there a way to draw a box with a Line or to draw a line with a shape.... I need column header boxes above in header and vertical lines in detail .
  • Hi Eric,

It is possible to draw a box with 4 lines :).

I highly suggest using the new TableGrid component to draw vertical and horizontal tables in ReportBuilder. This component automatically draws the lines for you and they will always line up.
