There is one thing I really miss in RB that was very simple in Report
Smith----

Select a Report Variable from a field in another table.

I know that I could program a custom AutoSearch Dialog to use a particular
table, but in Report Smith, the user had a generic solution which allowed a
user to define which table, field and value to use as part of the selection
criteria.

.....or am I missing something?

Autosearch lets you pick fields that are already in the query for the
report. We don't provide access to all fields of all tables for a report.
If you created an autosearch dialog to show available tables/fields, then
you'll need to add the SQL to the query in order to support the search
fields that the user selected.
