Installing TeeChart 4 with RB 6.03

edited November 2001 in General
When I install both TeeChart 4 and RB 6.03 and try to activate both RB
TeeChart components and the TeeChart components I get an error:

"Cannot load package 'Tee50'. It contains unit 'TeeAbout'; which is also
contained in package 'Tee45'.

How can I get this to work?

Thanks.

    Hi Elliot,

I don't know if you can use TeeChart 4 and RB 6.03, but I would look for
packages refering for 'TEE50' and change it, those packages must be rebuilt.
(only a job for very experienced Delphi users!).

Check the ReportBuilder help file. In the Contents, it explains which exact
versions of Teechart are supported with each version of Delphi.

Which version of Delphi are you using?

    Which version of Teechart- 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, 4.04...?

When you install a new version of Teechart, I wouldn't assume that the old
version was uninstalled. I've recently installed 5.02 and when I looked at
my machine, I found that all of the 5.01 files were still there and that my
Delphi library path was still pointed at my 5.01 Teechart packages. If you
uninstall everything and make sure that all Teechart files are gone from
your machine, then try reinstalling Teechart and then RB.

I am using Delphi 5. TeeChart is fine without Report Builder and visa versa.

I did the uninstall and then delete every TeeChart file I could find before
    installing RB or TeeChart.

I understand this but it makes no sense to me that Report Builder is so
incompatible with TeeChart. I am continually disappointed with Report
Builder. It seems that it has so much to offer and then these stupid quirks
    keep showing up.

    Hi Elliot,

I wouldn't complain about RB, that's a standard Delphi package 'issue'.
You can't use two different units with the same name at the same time in
    Object Pascal.
RB tries to work with the latest TEEChart, supporting all versions of TEE in
every RB release is technically not feasible.

The problem is that you have Teechart 4.03. You will need to upgrade to the
latest versoin of Teechart. We have to build a wrapper around Teechart so
that it can be used in RB. We try very hard to incorporate Teechart with
RB. There are many different releases of Teechart. Each release requires
us to rebuild our wrapper. So, we only maintain a few different packages to
support a few versions of Teechart. Please, have a look at the Teechart
help topic from our online help file's table of contents for more
information on which versions of Teechart we support for each version of
    Delphi in RB 6.03)

    For Delphi 5 we support:

    TeeChart 5.02a
    ReportBuilder 6.03 or later
    Status: Fully Operational

    TeeChart 5.01
    ReportBuilder 6.03 or later
    Status: Fully Operational

    TeeChart 4.02
    ReportBuilder 6.03 or later
    Status: Fully Operational
