Watermarks ...

edited April 2002 in General
Hmm, I think that this subject has been covered a few times before ... but
...

I need to place a watermark that covers the entire detail band ...
originally I wanted to use a JPEG image but the detail band also contains
images and I believe that transparent images ontop of other transparent
images don't work and certainly don't print as though they were transparent
... so I rethought it and used a TppMemo that is created in the HeaderBand
... at run time, I size and move it so that it covers the detail band -
which by the way is multi-column and multi-row.
Now it works but if the detail band contains images then they end up being
drawn on top of the TppMemo watermark and again they're not printed as
transparent ... so I'm back where I started ... I tried moving the TppMemo
into the footerband with the hope that I could use the size and position
trick to put it over the detailband with the hope that it'd be drawn ontop
of the images but I can't get that to work !

So how do I achieve my objective - to draw a giant TppMemo ontop of a
multi-row/column detailband ?

(I know that Report Builder has a watermark function in built but it never
seemed to do what I wanted.)

Thanks,

Unfortunately, transparency is not well supported on many printers. You
might want to try testing with the PageStyle band to place the watermark.
Try testing with different printers and also install the latest printer
drivers that are available form the printer manufacturer.
