Report page generation

edited April 2003 in General
Hi,
Using ReportBuilder v6.03.
Trying to preview a report, but have all pages cached. I have tried using
the CachePages property but this does not solve my problem. When i call
RegenerateReport, it runs through all the pages and generates them, but when
i am previewing the report and call the TppViewer.LastPage method there is a
long delay before the last page is displayed. On previewing the report in
the designer and do the same thing, the status bar shows "Calculating Page x
for Report..." and counts through all the pages from where you are to where
you want to go. This is done every time, even if you call FirstPage then
LastPage repeatedly. How do I make it calculate the pages only once? I have
achieved this before, but cannot find how.

    Gilbert,

I cannot recreate this behavior on my own machine. Please try downloading
the trial version of ReportBuilder 7.02 and see if you receive the same
    results.

    Nico,
I have managed to stop this happening before in v6.03, so it is not a
problem with that version of RB. We are planning to upgrade to v7, but not
before we release the version of our software. I was just looking for some
tips as to where to look to solve this problem - what could cause the report
to generated every time one scrolls to a different page in the preview?
    Regards,
    Gilbert

Make sure you are not changing the report's printer setup/page definition
    during runtime. This would cause
the report to repaginate all the pages.
