The default value for TppDesigner.IniStorageName is ($WINSYS)RBuilder.ini.
The ($WINSYS) is used to specify the Windows system directory. Are there
other variables similiar to ($WINSYS) that definte other directories such as
the location of the Temp directory? Where are these variables located and
defined?

Your system variables are listed in the Windows | Control Panel | Advanced |
Environment Variables dialog. This is where the Temp variable points to and
where you can change it systemwide.
