printer alias

We would like to add printer aliases to the printer selection dialog
the layout designer. These aliases refer to the actual printer where
the report will be printed. An alias is stored in a database record.
Background:
We want to use this in a multi-user setup where single layouts are
used on different working places which each have their own networked
printers, but unique sharenames on the network. The alias - printer
link is to be managed outside the layout editor.
Any suggestions? Or is there a 'windows' solution to this i missed?

The Report.PrinterSetup.PrinterName list is filled by the names of the
printers installed on your computer. These names are retrieved from Windows
and there is no way of controlling what appears here unless you give each
printer an alias when you install it on your machine.
