Are you able to see the TIF file using the demo browser that comes with the GraphicEx package?
What is the AV you are receiving? The second time I installed GraphicEx on my computer, I was able to get an AV claiming "The compression scheme is not supported for TIF/TIFF files". Is this the AV you are getting? If not, it is probaby because I am not using a proper Tiff file (I'm converting a JPEG with PaintShop Pro). I receive this AV when using ReportBuilder and the GraphicEx demo browser as well so it is not RB specific. Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of the TIF image that you are trying to load into the report? Then I could have a closer look at what exactly needs to happen. Thanks.
I am not getting a compression scheme error. I am getting an "Invalid image. Cannot generate report." error. But the error is pointing back to GraphicEx.
Further, investigating the GraphicEx.pas file reveals that most tif compression schemes are not supported including the one I need which is Group 4. This was confirmed by trying to use the GraphicEx browser on the tif directory. Uncompress tif files showed up fine.
So the next question is "What are people using to print tif files with Group 4 compression?" which is used quite extensively. I will post as a new question to the newsgroup to catch a possible answer.
I am now looking at the ImageLib components that we already own and see if that is a possibility. I will reveal my results when completed. And tell Tom and Nard hello. Are they both in Colorado where it is cool in the summer. This Texas heat is a killer now. Thank you looking.
ReportBuilder supports image libraries that descend from TImage such as GraphicEx. After searching the Internet, I was unable to find anything for Group 4 compression of Tiff files that descends from TImage. You might try posting a question on the Borland groups asking for a product that could help.
