How to determine the real height of a strechable Subreport

How can I read and change the real height of a scretchable component ?
I use a Subreport with two columns and a Group Header and I want the two
columns to be printed one after another (first the complete left column,
then the complete right column)

This could work, if I set the printBehavior to pbFixed and set the height of
the subreport manually to half the size of the just generated subreport.

But I cant read the real printed height of any component.

How can I get this to work ?
Is there any other way to solve my problem ?

Hi Thomas,

Sorry, but it is not possible to change the height of a stretchable
component as they are already dynamic components inside a report. Please
create a simple example getting as close to the results you are looking for
and send it in .zip format to support@digital-metaphors.com along with exact
instructions on how you would like it to look. This way I will be able to
find a quick and easy solution for you.
