Colouring Variables in Group Header

I am using ppVariables in a group header band, which show values derived form the records within the group. This may be as simple as a total value for example. I need to change the font colour of this ppVariable depending on its value. I have tried various onprint and ongenerate options, but the results are not as desired, the colours appear to be arbitrary, but are presumably a reflection of the data within the group. Can you suggest the method / event that I should be using?

Hi Will,

Where are you making the calculations for these variables? My suggestion
would be to change the color of the variable components just after you make
the calculations for their values... preferably in the TppVariable.OnCalc
event.
