How do you format fields used in the mailmerge with the richtext report field?

I set the format for a numeric field in the field defs but they don't
seem to have any effect on how the fields print. Tried to include the
infopower rich text stuff from the install directory but I don't think
it took. Are the infopower methods available in the in-delphi report
designer? Not showing up. I have infopower 4000 and changed to the
appropriate packages in the installed delphi design time component.

I did it via code in one of the events with a good substring replace
routine with the rich text but is there nothing in RAP or RB that will
allow for formatting of a mail merged number or date string?

If a customer was designing their own report (with the enterprise
version) they would need this capability I would think.
