Calculated Field p66 in "Learning ReportBuilder" question

I have a problem with the results when I try to do an expression like that
in Task2 of p66 in the "Learning ReportBuilder" pdf.

For example, when I do the expression: city + state
The result I get is not: Anaheim CA
but instead I get: Anaheim CA
The problem is a big space between the city and state.

Any suggestions??

city + ' ' + state
