New Blog Posts: Merging Reports - Part 1 and Part 2

blank space at end of page.

edited July 2004 in General
I have a report that has several regions on it that are made visible at
certain times otherwise they are not visible. When the report prints it
appears that there is plenty of room on the page for one more detail band
yet the information for that detail band prints on the next page leaving a
large empty area at the bottom of the page. Is there any setting that can
be changed to tell report builder to print so many detail bands per page?
I've gone through the report and moved everything up to the top of the page
as close as possible to try and get the last band to print. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.

    Hi David,

If your report contains multiple regions and/or groups, be sure they are not
set to KeepTogether. If some of your regions are set to KeepTogether, and
they are spanning across pages, it could be the reason you are seeing an
empty space at the bottom of some pages. Also if you are not using the
Footer Band, try turning it off using the Report main menu option in the
    designer.

Well I just checked all my regions and none of them are set to KeepTogether!

    Hi David,

Please send a small example demonstrating this behavior in .zip format to
support@digital-metaphors.com and I will take a look at it for you.
