Canvas does not allow drawing

Hello Everyone:

We are using Report Builder 6.03 with D5. On a laptop used for demos we are
getting the "Canvas does not allow drawing" message when a report is being
generated. This has never happened before on this laptop and does not happen
on other PCs. Does anyone have a suggestion for what could be causing this
problem? The laptop is running XP, 256mg, Dell Inspiron 2650. No other
problems with the PC or the rest of our software.

Hi Mike,

The exception 'Canvas does not allow drawing' occurs when RB cannont access
the printer. Typically this is thrown when there is not a default printer
installed. Try installing a printer on the machine that has the problems
(even if there is not one connected to it). As an alternative, you can also
set the PrinterName property to Screen so ReportBuilder will be able to
generate reports without the use of a printer driver. As always, be sure
you have the latest versions of your printer and video drivers installed.

Thanks for the suggestion. The computer had a default printer assigned, and
the report was using Screen as the device type. However, I changed the
default printer to another printer on the PC and it resolved the problem.
