Region Stretch Invisible

edited September 2004 in General
Hi,

I'm using ReportBuilder Enterprise 7.03. I have a collection of dbMemos
(with associated labels), which are all in separete regions. Each dbMemo
has Stretch set to True, and each region has ShiftRelativeTo set to the
region above. This has the desired result when the memos are populated, but
when they are empty the whole region is not shown. Can I control this
behaviour? I basically always want the region (with it's label) shown
whether there is any data in it or not.

Thanks in advance. I have checked the postings my newsreaded would
download, but couldn't find an answer!

    Hi Ryan,

Depending on how large you would like the region to be if there is no data
inside the memo, you can place an invisible shape (i.e. white pen, white
brush) inside the region so that when the memo contains no data, the shape
will still print causing the region to remain on your report. This is the
method most of our other customers use to enforce a "minimum" region height.

Thanks for the quick response. You solution worked, but as I made the
regions large, I realised that I didn't want ShiftWithParent set on the
label in the region. Turning this option off also stopped the regions from
    shrinking into invisibility!

    Thanks again
