Problems with RB9
I've upgraded from Ver 7.04 to Version 9 on Delphi 7 Pro, Win XP Pro.
Unfortunately there seem to be some bugs in Ver 9. When I try to edit a
report in design time that was created in Ver 7, I continuously get a Stack
overflow error that crashes Delphi. I've already uninstalled RB completely
and re-installed as per the RB 'How to uninstall a corrupt installation'
helpfile topic but the problem persists.
I've sent this bug report to support@digital-metaphors.com 3 days ago but
have still not had a reply.
Is their anyone else who has had this problem and can offer some advice on
getting around this problem. I've had to uninstall Ver 9.0 and I'm using Ver
7.04 again.
Thank you,
Heinrich

even on new reports. The only way I can get it to work at the moment is to
put the report, pipeline, datasource and dataset on the same form. I've had
to go back to 7.04 too since a rewrite of whole apps with this change is
inviable at present.

Tuesday - send it again. They are usually very good about bug help..
There is now a patch available that fixes this issue. Email
support@digital-metaphors.com and request the 'stack overflow' patch.
Thus far only users using Interbase (BDE, IBExpress, IBObjects) have
reported the stack overflow error. In any case, the patch should fix all
occurences of this error.
