Reportbuilder causes crash

edited December 2004 in General
Working with D7, W2K and RB 7

I have an older project on which I just wanted to open the report to look
something up.
When I doubleclick the report, Delphi along with the project is closed
without even a warning.
I tried a report in a different project, no such problem there.
So I went back to the first one, deleted the old report and created a new
one, no luck.

What could be the cause of this problem? How can I solve it.

I have seen this happen before with ADO related applications (RB and
non-RB). You do not state whether you are using ADO, so this is a guess.
Perhaps when you try to open the report it tries to open the DataSet and
either the dataset or the connection object has an issue.

If you are using the RB Data workspace to build queries, then perhaps the
report is looking for an ADO connection object that no longer exists. (The
Designer.DataSettings are saved as part of the query definitions).

If you have RB Professional or Enterprise you could try adding the
TppDesigner component and performing a run-time design test.
