Subreports in the group footer
Hi,
I am having difficulties with a subreport in a group footer band.
The subreport is linked to the master pipeline on the same field as the one
that generates the group but it either prints the wrong data or no data at
all.
Both the master pipeline and the subreport pipeline is sorted.
Is the sorting order important?
My other question is, should subreports be placed in the footer bands at
all?
I am guessing that the only place subreports (not independent subreports)
should be placed is in the detail band. Am I correct?
Thank you.

As I mentioned in the thread in the DataPipelines newsgroup, your subreport
will not print correctly if you place it inside the group footer when it is
linked in a Master/Detail relationship. In order for a Master/Detail
relationship to work correctly in ReportBuilder, the linked subreport needs
to be in the detail band. This is why I would suggest placing two
subreports in your detail band and doing away with the group altogether.
To answer your first question, yes, you need to sort your detail dataset on
the linking field in order to get the master/detail report to generate
correctly.
