Strange behaviour for "caption" properties !!

Hi,

I have a little problem with the caption properties.
Everytime I want to type something for the caption properties it is
automatically select what I type.
So I never succeed to type something.
The only "workaround" is to type a letter ... wait a little that the letter
or word is selected ... use the arrow to go to the end of what I already
typed ... type a letter ... and so on. And don't go too fast. Otherwise if
you type something when the what you already type is selected ... it is
replace "Aaaarggghhhh" !!!

Any solution PLLEEEEAAASSSEEEE :-)

Hi Pierre,

I'm sorry but I do not understand the steps you are taking to reproduce this
issue. First, which version of ReportBuilder are you using? Are you typing
the caption into the edit toolbar, RB inspector, or Delphi object inspector?
Please provide the exact steps you are taking to recreate this behavior.

Hi,

Delphi 9
RB 9.01

I have a report open.
I click on a "TppLabel".
Then I go to Delphi ObjectInspector, select properties panel, look for
"caption" properties and select it.
Then on the right I begin to type the caption I want.
Each time I type acharacter it is automatically selected (just like when you
select a word). So if I continue typing, I erase what I just type ... and
so on.
So I type a character wait for the "automatic selection", use the arrow to
go to the end of my word (selection is gone) type an other character ... and
so on.

If I remerber I had the same problem with version 9.00
May be I will install a trial of version 10 to see what's happening.

I don't have the problem If I do the same thing in Delphi (so select a Label
and change the caption ...)

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the steps, however I am unable to see this behavior with Delphi
2005 and RB 10.02. ReportBuilder does not take direct control of the Delphi
Object Inspector in most cases, are you able to see this when using a TLabel
on a form? My suggestion (as you mentioned) would be to try ReportBuilder
10.02 and see if the problem is resolved.

Yes .. it is working with version 10.02
The problem disapear ...
and now ...
re-install version 9 ?
or ... upgrae to version 10.02 :-)

second solution cost a little more ;-)

Hi again,

I re-install version 9.01 and the problem is back.
I don't have the problem if I use the "Report tree" and change the caption
using that way.

So I'll continue with this and use the "report tree".

Any special price for an upgrade ? :-))

Hi Pierre,

Yes, first try updating you version of ReportBuilder to 9.03 and see if the
problem still exists before upgrading to 10.02. Contact
info@digital-metaphors.com with your serial number for updating information.
