RB Improvement Requests

Hi

Could you perhaps add the following requests to your list of potential
enhancements for Report Builder?...

1. We often have to run reports of all engineers work done 'last week',
'last month' would it be possible to have Auto Search criteria which
calculated these, rather than the user having to manually enter them every
time? That way we can generate so automatic reporting.

2. We seem to often have reports where we have multiple sub reports with use
different data but share a common selection usually date from, date to.
Currently the user has to maybe enter the date selection 3 times - would it
be possible to have one selection which passes the criteria to each sub
report?

1. I recommend writing some code to initialize the parameters with the
correct values. Delphi has a DateUtils unit that has many date functions.
Particularly useful are EncodeDate/DecodeDate. If you don't see a function,
you could write one. (and thanks for the feedback I will add this to the
requested features. Currently we do not have any default value constants for
params).

2. You can do this with RB 14.

You can define Report.Parameters with AutoSearchSettings and you can bind
query search conditions to the parameters - including binding a single
parameter to any number of queries. Here is an rbWiki article with details.
