ItemType field for ItemPipeline?

I'm trying to use the report explorer to build an interface to the reports.
I read the help on the ItemType field for the ItemPipline but I don't full
understand how or what it is used for. I hope someone can help me
understand the purpose of this field.

Hi Eric,

In ReportBuilder, it is possible to save DADE data modules and RAP code
modules separate from a report in template format. You can do so by
selecting the Data or Calc tab in the Report Designer and choosing the File
| Save menu option. These data and code modules can also be saved in a
database and loaded in separate reports as you need them. The ItemType
field defines which type of template is being saved down.

1: Report (normal template)
2: Code Module (RAP)
3: Data Module (DADE)
