Over-riding default fieldname when prompting user for value
Hi,
I have some fields which can be renamed by the end-user for their own use.
WHen setting up search criteria that the user needs to enter, it displays in
the dialog the original source field name. Is there a way to rename this
field so that when it displays for the end-user it is meaningful to them
rather than the original fieldname. A little like a data dictionary
defiinition. Using ReportBuilder V7.
Thanks
Alex

You should be able to use the DataDictionary to do this as well. In my
testing with the main enduser demo, changing the field alias in the
DataDictionary changed the name of the field in the query designer when
creating a new search criteria and in the AutoSearch dialog when previewing
the report.
