Excel exporting problems
Hi All,
We have a requirement for our software which basically requires the
following functionality to be available in the Excel export function from
Report Builder:
1.) A cell should be able to hold 32,767 characters in the export file.
2.) The contents of a cell should be able to be wrapped or switch the word
wrap attribute on for a cell.
3.) Be able to adjust the width of the columns in the excel export file.
4.) The component should be able to export to 2007 format.
Now, I know there are currently 3 commercial file export products for Report
Builder.
1.) Waler.
2.) Rarefind.
3.) Gnostice eDocEngine.
Now I am talking to the respective component writers about whether our
requirements can be met by there respective suites. What I would like to
know has anyone had the same issues and how did they overcome these issues?
Are there any other alternatives other than writing our own Report Builder
export interface? I find that none of these components can qualify all of
these requirements which is a problem for me.

We are researching adding Excel export to a future release. If you would
like to generate a .raf and email it to support@ in zip format we can take a
look it for gather requirements. I don't understand the requirement to
export in .xlsx format (Excel 2007), because Excel 2007 can read .xls files.
