How can I configure this orientation print to report

edited August 2003 in RAP
Hello,

We have a problem with a report that was developed abrout three subreports.
On the principal report detail band, we have two subreports (subreport 1 and
2). The principal report has a group to page break.

Whitin the subreport 1 we have other subreport (subreport 3) that has the
page width configuration with the same size that the subreport 3 has within
subreport 1 detail band. This subreport 3 has a layout definition with three
columns and without margins to use all the reserved space on subreport 1
detail band. The orientation to print the subreport 3 is from left to right.

When we printed the report, the subreport 3 wasn't printed when there are
three details that must be printed on subreport's layout three columns. Then
we changed the configuration to two columns and when we printed the report,
we saw that there was a multiple number of details in relation to columns of
subreport 3, that one should be printed on all columns, but the subreport 3
wasn't printed. When there was a number of detail that wasn't multiple, we
saw that the subreport 3 was printed. We created a region to print it, but
the subreport 3 wasn't printed either.

We made many tests to print the subreport 3 and we saw that the subreport 3
only was printed correctly when we configured the print's orientation top to
bottom, what we don't need.

Our question is about a Report Builder's deficiency to control the columns
on left to right orientation.

Thanks,

Jos? Vicente

What version of RB are you using? There was a bug in older versions, such as
RB 6.03. The left to right traversal of subreports should be fixed if you
are using RB 7. Can you download and test RB 7.03 to see if you can
reproduce the problem in our latest release? www.digital-metaphors.com
