What is required to set up and test the Report Server? Can you do
everything on a standalone Windows 2000 Professional machine or do you need
to have a 2000 or NT server? If you need the server does Microsoft offer
something like a 2-user development version? I have a server set up for
testing with a 2-user version of Netware but have never seen a similar
Microsoft offering.

Windows 2000 Professional is fine. In order to run the WebTier you'll need
to install IIS from the "Windows Component" icon of Add/Remove Programs. See
the tutorials in the Developer's Guide for a step-by-step...
