Feature request

edited August 2001 in General
I've asked for this before, and I'm still waiting.

Several times today, I've grabbed and dragged a report component by
mistake. I usually realize my mistake before I release the mouse. My
natural reaction is to hit Esc. In any other program I can think of,
this "undoes" the incomplete drag, and snaps the component back to its
original position. In RB, it drops the component where it is.

Please make Esc undo a drag in progress in the Report Designer.

P.S. It would also be really nice if you provided a way to
lock/unlock components on the Report Designer individually, without
locking the entire form in Delphi. Once you've carefully positioned a
group of components, you don't want to move them accidentally. This
would probably be a property of a RB component base class.

Yep, Undo and component locking would be some cool features. There was a
pretty good feature request thread a couple of weeks ago with quite a few
good ideas, mostly on improving the designer's capabilities. We have had
undo and component locking on the ToDo list. Thanks for the feedback.
