Line Numbers

Hi there,

this seems like a simple question but I needed to make a column that prints
the line number of the detail section of a report. Is there an automated
way to do this?

So far I am trying to update a variable everytime that the detail band gets
printed to screen. Unfortunately,when I print it to the printer, the
variable keeps incrementing. Thus, for example, on the screen my line
numbers run from 1 - 5 like they are supposed to but when I print they say
6 - 10.

Your help is appreciated.

Use a DBCalc component in the detail band and set its DBCalctype property to
count.
