Access to the device context

Hi,

I'm trying to get the text extent dynamically at run time and was wondering
how do I get access to the device context in ReportBuilder. I just started
using ReportBuilder so please be gentle

Ultimately I would like to determine if a field is too small to display the
whole text and if it is change the text or the font size. Also fell free to
let me know if there is a better way to do this.

You can access the Report.Printer object. This has a canvas that you can use
to measure the text at runtime while the report is generating for the
printer. Here is a demo which takes this to the extreme and forces the
report to try to fit on one page by regenerating it with different fonts.
