Question on changing order of Sub reports

edited March 2003 in General
Hi;

I'm using RB6.x and I have one report that has six sub-reports in it.
The order that the sub reports print match to the order that the sub
reports are organized in the parent report (referring to the tab pages).
I need to change the order of the sub reports, even though in the Parent
report I move the sub reports bands around, it does not change the
orders. How do I this?

Thanks!

    Ben,

    The order that the subreports are printed is determined in two different
    ways. First if your subreports are 'Section' style, the print order is set
    based on the ZOrder (how close to the front each subreport component is on
    the band relative to the other components). This feature can be adjusted by
    using the 'bring to front' or 'send to back' opitions when you right click a
    component. Second, if your subreports are 'Child' style, the print order is
    determined by the 'ShiftRelativeTo' property.

    Nico;

    I tried, but no luck. Let me specify what I have then you may be able to
    help me. On the main report's detail section I have three bands of sub
    report: a) Quote b) Booking c) Sales
    At the bottom of the page where the tab shows: a)Sales b)Quote c)Booking

    I want them to print in the order of: Quote, Booking and Sales (as the
    bands are).

    Now If I right click on any band and choose bring to front or back, it
    does not change the order on the bottom tabs.

    When you say "Right click on component" can you be more specific please?

    Thanks!

    Ben,

    When you set the ZOrder of Subreports in your report, the tabs at the bottom
    will not reflect their print order. The tabs only show which order you
    created the subreports in. Try bringing your Sales subreport to the front
    first followed my Booking and Quote. This should make the subreports print
    in the order you desire.
