Printing on continuous paper
Hello!
I've asked this question before and the solution you guys provided helped me
a lot back then but now something else came up and the problem went back on.
The thing is that I have to print a receipt on continuous paper. What I
need to know is how do I setup the report so that it doesn't print blanks on
"Page Changes" (which is actually never supposed to occur). The solution
that I used for a while was to setup the page height equal to a detail band
height and eliminate headers and footers.
This works fine for reports with only texts in it. Now I NEED a header and
a footer. In fact, I need to print a 2 inches logo on top of the receipt
and another 2 inches footer. When I set the page height to 2 inches,
depending on the number of records printed, I frequently get a blank space
in the bottom of the report (probably filling the rest of the 2 inches of
the page). I dont want that.
So here is my question: How can I print a report on a continuous paper so
that I don't get page breaks ever?
Though english isn't my primary language, I hope I got understood clearly.
Thanks alot!

Try using title/summary rather than header/footer. The title will print the
logo, followed by any number of detail lines for the receipt detail,
followed by the summary.
receipt title
detail-1
detail-2
...
detail-n
receipt summary
If you do not use header/footer, then the report engine will not reserve
space at the bottom of each page for the footer, thus I think the problem
will be alleviated. Also set the top and bottom margins to 0. A page break
will not really do anything if you have no header/footer, it will just keep
printing detail bands.
According to our customers, some receipt printers have a special printer
driver that has a paper size that is 'continuous'.
