Still Sub-reports problematic

edited July 2003 in Subreports
The core problem of my problem with subreports must have something to do
with using the Advandage datasets. If I connect up the subreport to a
pipline, I don't even get the display of the parent detail - no labels even.

Looking at dbgrids in the background shows the report going through the
dataset, but at the end nothing is output to screen.

Is is true that when a sub-report is opened then the whole report is being
    regenerated?

When you click on a drill down component to launch the subreport, every page
from that page to the last page of the report has to be repaginated. Yes,
the main report does traverse its datapipeline to do this for the pages
involved in the repagination if Report.PassSetting is psTwoPass. If you have
a one pass report, then only the current requested page in the viewer should
be regenerated, but as you request the following pages, they will be
generated on demand as well as you traverse through them in the previewer.

Please stick to a single thread for the same problem.

Please use your real name or a plausible on you go by instead of "atest"

There is no known issue with RB 7 and Advantage. We have many users using RB
    with Advantage.

Make sure that the Subreport.Datapipeline is assigned.

    Thanks Paul,

If you want to send an example to support@digital-metaphors.com I can run it
on our Advantage database server and see if there is something that we are
missing here to reproduce the problem.
